The Nepal-India Cross-Border Media Conclave 2025, organized by Media for Border Harmony, Nepal, concluded today with the adoption of a comprehensive 17-point declaration.

Presenting the declaration, senior journalist Kranti Shah stated that the conclave aims to identify and highlight common issues between the two nations and to urge both governments and concerned agencies to take constructive steps for their resolution. He emphasized the need for protecting media from misinformation and disinformation, promoting factual and responsible reporting, and sensitively addressing issues that could potentially create conflict or disharmony in society.

Speaking on the occasion, Shyam Sundar Yadav, former Chairperson of the Madhes State Mass Communication Authority, urged both governments to continue supporting such meaningful and constructive initiatives in the future.

Amrendra Tiwari, President of Media for Border Harmony, India, announced that similar conferences will be organized regularly to deepen and expand Nepal-India relations through dialogue and media cooperation.

Addressing the conclave, Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Kumar Yadav highlighted the importance of further strengthening Nepal-India ties. He expressed confidence that the declaration would contribute to building an environment conducive to expanding cooperation between the two countries. The Minister also appealed to certain sections of the Indian media to act responsibly and avoid spreading rumors that could harm bilateral relations.
