The Nepal–India Friendship Dialogue, organized by Media for Border Harmony, concluded successfully with wide participation from leaders, representatives, and journalists of both countries.

Addressing the programme, former Prime Minister of Nepal, Madhav Nepal, stressed that both governments must prioritize the convenience and welfare of their citizens. He said that borders should not become barriers, and continuous dialogue between officials and representatives of both nations is essential. Highlighting tourism potential, he urged the construction of an international airport in Nijgadh, which would strengthen connectivity and make visits to holy sites like Gaya, Ayodhya, and Varanasi easier.

Referring to the centuries-old “Beti–Roti” relationship between Nepal and India, he described the open border as a unique global example of harmony and trust, where citizens themselves act as safeguards against unlawful activities. He assured that the issues raised in the dialogue would be conveyed to Nepal’s Prime Minister.

Motilal Prasad, MLA from Riga (Sitamarhi, India), emphasized the need to address cross-border river management and promised to raise the matter with Bihar’s Water Resources Minister. He further suggested that people’s representatives from both countries should regularly join administrative-level meetings to ensure inclusive dialogue.
